Our community takes a proactive position on the control of domesticated canine pets within Delta City. Our animal control officer patrols our city streets twenty hours per week, and is also on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to insure compliance with our animal-control related ordinances. See § 13-200 et seq. of the Delta City Revised Code of Ordinances, 1981 Edition, as amended.

Any dog over the age of six months is required to be licensed.

Those who own, keep, harbor or maintain more than three dogs are considered to be maintaining a kennel and a kennel license fee of $50 is also required in addition the licensure of each animal.
Proof of rabies vaccination is required for all dogs six months of age before a license will be issued.
If our animal control officer takes custody of your dog and transports it to Gunnison Bend Veterinary Services, with whom the City maintains a contractual relationship, you will be responsible for certain fees in order to get your dog released back to you. In additon to making sure that your dog is rabies vaccinated and licensed with the City, you will be responsible for:
